Captive in the Dark (The Dark Duet, #1)

Captive in the Dark - C.J. Roberts I'm not even sure how to review this book. It's that intense! I'm not sure how I feel about myself after this book. This book left me unsure of a lot of things! I loved reading it, but it felt wrong?. I didn't like what was going on, but there was just something about it that wouldn't let me go. I felt a connection with Livvie. I wanted to jump in this book and rescue her. Then Caleb starts showing a bit of a softer side, and Livvie starts to feel "comfortable" with him. And the strange thing is, I do too. I guess it's the lesser of the two evils thing. This book is dark, gritty, raw, and pushed my limits to the max! But I loved it! This is one of those books, that you have to read and judge for yourself.

The Girl in 6E

The Girl in 6E - Dark, captivating and very unique. I finished this book in one day. The main character is not your usual "heroine". She is damaged. I'm not talking your normal damaged, I'm talking FUBAR! She has the urge to kill, she fantasizes about it in great detail. To keep her urges at bay, she keeps herself away from all human contact except virtually. She has a webcam site where she fulfills men's fantasies for $6.99 per minute. There are men with all sorts of fetishes she must partcipate in, and she's okay with that. She doesn't judge. But one man's fetish is becoming harder to take. She worries about what it might mean. Then her worries come true. Can she contain her urge to kill in order to save someone else? This book was unlike anything I've ever read. Even the description doesn't clue you in on the different turns this book will take. I highly recommend to anyone looking for something different from your usual romance/erotica reads.

Jayne Doe: a story written by a girl

Jayne Doe: a story written by a girl - Anonymous I had to let this one soak in! Wow, I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. I really wasn't expecting the crayon on the cover to symbolize what it did. It was an emotional read. I cried, wanted to scream and really wanted to beat the crap out of a few people! It was a different kind of book for me, but I liked it.

Going Under

Going Under - S. Walden I know I'm in the minority, but I don't get all the hype. It took me around half of the book before I could really get into it. It just didn't grab me. The book had my attention the first few pages, but then it dropped. There wasn't much going on to hold my interest. I put it down several times and decided to pick it back up after talking to my sister, who also read it, and told me that it gets better. My major peeve was Brooke. I didn't connect with her. With her actions and dialogue, I would have guessed she was a young teen not eighteen. It finally got interesting around the middle of the book when she really starts getting into finding out about FSL and her and Ryan start talking. I really liked Ryan. He was a great character. I wish Brooke was just as complex as Ryan. I don't want to take anything away from the subject. The book centers around a very serious matter and I think the author handled it beautifully.

True

True - Erin McCarthy Loved it! Tyler is hot! Tattooed, kind, loving and loyal. It broke my heart to watch how he was with his brothers. Being there to protect them when his mom couldn't or wouldn't. I really liked Rory, but this book was all about Tyler for me. I don't want to give spoilers cause this book needs to be experienced! It was heart breaking and uplifting. I can't wait for the next book!!!I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

White Trash Beautiful

White Trash Beautiful - Teresa Mummert This one is another one that didn't do it for me. It was okay, I had high hopes for it and I got let down.So Cass is in an abusive relationship with her drug addict boyfriend, Jax. She meets Tucker in the diner where she works and he is instantly smitten. Tucker pursues her and she gives in, but runs away under the "I'm doing him a favor by leaving" philosophy. She finds out he's a rock star and goes to his concert to tell him she was wrong and wants him. And he is fine with it! She goes back and forth and runs so many times and he just accepts her back, no questions asked. Really? And that happens throughout the whole book. I do feel bad for her circumstances. Her boyfriend is an addict and her mother, who lives with her, is too. She wants to have something better, but Jax keeps getting in the way. I felt for her, but I didn't really connect with her. There is one sex scene that TELLS you they had sex, and she gets pregnant her one and only time sleeping with Tucker. This one just had a lot of holes that didn't get filled in for me. The story didn't feel believable. I won't be reading the next installment.

Reaper's Property (Reapers MC, #1)

Reaper's Property (Reapers MC, #1) - Joanna Wylde This is one of those books that I liked, but I wasn't overly fond of. I gave myself a few days before writing this cause I had such conflicting feelings. I'm not sure that helped. I'm still back and forth with how I feel about it! Horse was so ROUGH. If romance is what you're looking for, this may not be it. The heroine, Marie, really got on my nerves. She goes from "I'm scared of him" to "he touched me and I forgot everything." Really? One touch and you don't care that he and his brothers just beat the crap out of your brother and was holding a gun to his head or that he was getting a lap dance with boobs in his face? Or that his friend just tried to rape you and he tells you it will be dealt with. And you can't ask what's gonna happen, cause its "club business"?!?!? She just seemed so flaky! Can you tell she really got on my nerves? But, I did get into the story after a while. Horse grew on me, and so did some of his brothers. I loved the "old ladies"! I would recommend this book to fans of Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan.

Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers, #1)

Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers, #1) - Tara Sivec I don't know why it took me so long to read this book. I am in so in love with Tara Sivec right now. She really has a way with words. Ok, so the words are mainly naughty ones, but she DOES have a way with them, right? I have never laughed so hard in my life! My family thought I had gone temporarily insane while I was reading this. And my husband would like to thank Tara for giving me knew things to go around shouting. Oh, and I keep telling him I'm gonna punch him in the vagina. He's not thrilled about my new vocabulary. I absolutely love all the characters in the book. I can't even put into words how awesome this book is. Just go read it, I mean really, I can tell you how great and wonderful and funny it is, but this book is something that NEEDS to be experienced. I give it 5 big 'ol leg humping stars!

The Devil's Necktie

The Devil's Necktie - John Lansing I don't often read books written by men. I don't read thrillers very often either. But when I had the chance to review The Devil's Necktie, I jumped on it. The blurb alone was enough to make me want to read it.Jack is the MC and I immediately liked him. A hard nosed retired NY cop. He's gruff and all busines. When an ex-informant reaches out to him for help, he is a little apprehensive. And with good reason. Minutes after leaving her, she's murdered. And guess who's suspect # 1? We follow Jack as he tries to find Mia's murderer and clear his name. Old enemies will surface and old threats too. There's a lot going on in this book. A little romance, a hint of steam and lots of action.I would recommend to anyone who likes to read thrillers, or those who love lots of action!.

Scarlet (BBW Paranormal Romance) (Alpha Marked)

Scarlet - Celia Kyle Menage a tois anyone? Mmmm, yes please! Oh how I wish this was a full length novel. I would have loved to have seen more of Scarlet or more of the Gathering before she found her mates, but it was a great story nonetheless. Scarlet is my favorite kind of character. She's snarky, full of sass and she can hold her own against Madden and Keller. And she's gonna need to! I loved the chemistry between the three, and the love scenes were steamy with a capital S! I want more of this story. I would recommend this to anyone who likes shifters and erotica!

Collide (Collide, #1)

Collide (Collide, #1) - Gail McHugh Wow, talk about a cliff hanger. This ends in the Mount Everest of cliff hangers! Here I was just reading along not paying attention to how much was left, then BAM. THE END What?!?!?! How could that possibly be the end? There are too many unanswered questions, too much going on for it to end now. Cue the temper trantrum!!! After pulling myself together, I thought I would write the review while everything is still fresh. Cliff hanger aside, I loved it. I'm not really a fan of triangles, but I like the way Gail McHugh wrote this one. Of course, it doesn't hurt that I'm a big fan of angst! This is one emotional read, let me tell you! There were some sweet moments that made me smile then there were the WTH, Are You Kidding Me?!?!? moments. I can say that this book has made me look at bottle caps in a whole new way! Emily....she's nice, sweet, and naive. No, naive isn't strong enough. Dillon.....A**HOLE, 'nough said!Gavin.....Ah Gavin, the player. Mr. Tall, Dark and F***ingly Handsome to quote Emily. Yep, that about sums it up. But he's so much more. He has a sweet side, but don't be fooled, he also has a vengeful side as well. When this side came out, I was like, "oh, sh**!" Yeah, so if you like angst filled drama, you will LOVE this one!

In The Stillness

In The Stillness - Andrea Randall Wow, Andrea Randall is definitely on my authors to watch list! This is the third book I've read of hers and loved them all. Natalie - At first, I wasn't sure about her. She goes on and on about being unhappy that she's a mother to the point I thought she resented the kids. She hates her husband and she cuts herself to deal with it. I thought she was weak. It's easy to jump to conclusions when you don't have the whole story. Eric - Something was off about him from the get go for me, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Yes, he worked all the time, but he was working on his Masters! He seemed to be a good husband and father when he had the time. Although, I did understand Natalie sometimes felt like a single mom. Ryker - I liked him immediately! We briefly meet him before he gets deployed. However, when he returns, he has changed. How can he not? After seeing things in the war, it HAS to mess with your mind. I loved that this book was not all flowers and rainbows! In the Stillness deals with some heavy real world issues but it's also about love, friendship and overcoming your own personal demons. It's not all dark, there are many touching moments. For me, it was a very thought provoking book.

Being Me (Inside Out Trilogy, #2)

Being Me (Inside Out Trilogy, #2) - Lisa Renee Jones I feel lost and empty after finishing this book. My cheeks are tear stained and my heart has been shredded. I was pulled so far into this book, I actually felt ALL the raw emotions, and now I'm trying to talk myself back into the real world. Being Me picks up right where If I Were You ends. From page one, I was sucked back into the lives of these complex characters. Sara is still avidly trying to find Rebecca and trying to make sure she keeps the clients and Mark happy at the gallery. And of course, there's Chris. There is so much electricity between Sara and Chris it makes the air around you sizzle. Chris is the ultimate tortured bad boy. From his torn jeans, leather jacket and that magnificent piece of hardware between his legs. The Harley that is. *ahem* He keeps trying to warn Sara that there's a part of him that she may not be able handle. Mark tries to convince her of the same. Does she listen? NOPE! She'll have to experience his dark side for herself. And does she ever. I was gutted after reading a few scenes. Mark is, well, Mark. He's handsome, mysterious, and has to have his way. Although, I must say, he shows a little bit of a softer side. Which made me feel a little differently about him. I actually felt sorry for him at one point. There's more to Mark and I hope we get to know him better in Revealing Us. So, we do get the identity of The Master. Who was it? Well, I can't tell you that. That would be a spoiler and I hate those! Sorry! Lots of things are answered. The mystery surrounding Rebecca is revealed. And WOW, never saw that coming, I mean not in a million years! Don't worry though, even with these questions answered, many more are raised. The ending? Well, I'm not happy with the way it ends. Of course, it's a cliff hanger, but even worse......it's an emotional cliff hanger. Now, don't get me wrong, I like cliff hangers, but I can't last six months not knowing what's going on!!! And some "new" characters are introduced. The Walker Brothers from Lisa Renee Jones' Tall, Dark and Deadly series make an appearance! Jones has managed to write another superb book! The way she creates these characters and their world makes you feel as if you are part of it. I couldn't put this book down. I finished it within 24 hours. I had to know what was coming next. Now, if I could just get Revealing Us I would be happy!

Rebecca's Lost Journals, Volume 2: The Contract

Rebecca's Lost Journals, Volume 2: The Contract - Lisa Renee Jones In volume two, we are introduced to "The Contract". Rebecca comtemplates whether or not she can commit to this relationship as defined in the terms. If Recbecca doesn't fully understand what the terms mean, how can she agree to them? If she says no, can she still have him in her life? There are "clues" as to who The Master is, but dang it, I can't figure it out yet! All the major players are present, and I'm actually leaning towards Ricco. I didn't even really give Ricco a second glance in If I Were You. He just didn't make much of an impact in If I Were You, but now........I guess I'll have to keep reading to find out.
Rebecca’s Lost Journals, Volume 4: My Master (INSIDE OUT TRILOGY) - Lisa Renee Jones And it gets juicier! Rebecca is starting to question if she can continue with this arrangement. She has fallen in love and wants more. Can he or more importantly will he give her want she wants? It's time to renew the contract again. Things have gone farther and gotten darker than Rebecca is fully comfortable with. She is fighting a battle with herself. She wants to take control of her life again, but she wants him too. Can she take back her control, will he let her?My guess is back to Ricco being the Master. Just a hunch. I'm guessing we'll have to wait for the last book to find out!

Rebecca's Lost Journals, Volume 3: His Submissive

Rebecca's Lost Journals, Volume 3: His Submissive - Lisa Renee Jones In this volume Rebecca makes her decision regarding the contract. The lessons are coming along and He takes her a little deeper into the world of BDSM. Her career is flourishing and everything is clicking into place, but the nightmares still plague her. What are these dreams trying to tell her? In the last volume, I was leaning towards Ricco, but now, I'm not sure. Is it Chris? He was a front runner for me from the beginning. But then, the way he was with Sara in If I Were You, I'm not sure he fits. Of course, it could be a diversion?!?!?! AAAHHHH, I just don't know!
